Senior Open League Summer 2024
The Senior Open League (SOL) is an adult hockey league that was created to make hockey accessible to players of all skill levels. For the Fall/Winter season the league is made up of 5 Divisions each containing 4-6 teams of similar ability, and is typically 22 games long. For the Summer season we offer a 12 week season with 3 Divisions made up of 4 teams each. All players must be 18 prior to the start of the season.
Ages
The Senior Open League is for adults age 18+ with at least some experience playing hockey on a team.
When
Fall/Winter Season runs from October through March.
Spring/Summer Season runs from May through the end of August
Where
All games are held at the Huntsville Ice Sports Center located at:
3185 Leeman Ferry Rd, Huntsville AL
Games
Games are played on Sunday afternoons/evenings and consist of 3 - 18 minute run time periods with a 2 minute warm up, and a 1 minute break between periods.
Jerseys
Jerseys are not provided by the league and must follow USA Hockey rules regarding unique numbers on the back and be of a matching or similar color as the team they are playing on.

Are payment plans available?
YES! if paying with a credit/debit card your season registration fees may be paid in 3 payments.
What happens if I miss a payment?
If you miss a payment for whatever reason you will be sent an email and will be required to bring your account current. If you fail to do so you will be placed on administrative suspension and will not be allowed to play and your captain may not sub for you.
Can I play with my friends?
While we try to accommodate requests skill parity amongst teams is a priority to keep teams competitive and games enjoyable for everyone on the ice..... so the answer is maybe...but we promise you will make new friends.

What do I do if I am injured during a SOL game?
- If the injury needs to be tended to immediately this is your priority. The teams Captain should contact the SOL Director.
- If time allows, notify the front office at the rink and request an incident report. The teams Captain will still need to contact the SOL Director.
- You do have supplementary coverage as part of your USAH membership, the paperwork will need to be signed by the SOL Director prior to submission to USAH.
Summer 2024
Summer Season Description:
The teams for the 2024 Summer SOL Season will be put together by the Captains performing a full draft. This means you will register for the season, complete questions regarding previous play, and be selected by a Captain to be on a team. ALL registrants will be drafted to a team! There will be 3 Divisions, Upper, Middle, and Lower with 4 teams in each Division. The Upper Captains will draft their teams first, followed by Middle and Lower.
Goalies will work the same way.
